Prescription for Physical Activity

Physical activity can add far more to your health than merely losing weight or adding muscle strength! Modern medical science has found that daily exercise is the best way to achieve a state of optimal fitness, which allows you to live longer and stay free of illness better.

Doctors are now starting to prescribe daily exercise for all their patients, in an effort to prevent illness and improve the quality of life for their patients. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends that all adults get at least 30 minutes of strenuous activity every day, and some medical studies are starting to show that more than 30 minutes of activity gives even better health benefits.

The WCCPA has developed a prescription pad that tailors your exercise needs to resources available in this area. These are supplied to all doctors in this area, so that your doctor can use it to prescribe an activity plan that is right for you!
